This is why we regard our fully trained North American installing distributors - those who purchase our products and then resell them to their customers - not as customers but as partners. We sell in North America through Distributor-Partners and are very particular as to who they are and their capabilities.

Outside of Canada and the United states it is extremely difficult to maintain this philosophy due to the extreme distances involved, shipping and crating issues, delivery times and the servicing of potential issues that will inevitably occur. A conventional installing distributor who buys and resells is not an adequate solution for the out of North America market. So rather than establishing distributor –partners we commenced a program of establishing ”licensee-partners”, the first being in Mexico in 2005.. This involved locating markets that we felt were viable, that had already established norms that favored the products we make and had opportunities for Moderco as well as local companies involved in the construction and architectural specialties market place. After consideration we felt that Mexico, Central and South America were the International markets we could best serve.
- Specific conditions and conditions for prospective licensees were established which included:
- Visits to each other’s facilities.
- Designation of key personnel that would be dedicated to Moderco assembly.
- A commitment to purchase specific manufacturing equipment and dedicated manufacturing space.
- Stocking of components and maintain an inventory of same
- Annual review of successes, failures and plans for future.
Moderco manufactures several operable partition products so we had to determine which one would be best suitable for a licensee-partner to assemble. the Signature series, single and paired, manual operation with a maximum height of 12’ was selected as it satisfied 80% of market requirements. projects having different needs requires that the product be manufactured at Moderco.
As a result to date we have established the following licensee-partners.
- Promotora/Escara – Mexico City, Mexico manufacturing for and selling throughout Mexico
- Sysprotec – Santiago, Chile manufacturing for and selling throughout Chile as well as Peru and Colombia
- Decibel – Buenos Aires, Argentina manufacturing for and selling throughout Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay.
- Axxio – Sao Paulo, Brazil manufacturing for and selling throughout Brazil.
Moderco is very proud of our licensee-partners, their successes and how we continue to learn together as we grow together. Moderco will continue to expand slowly but deliberately throughout the Americas in the years to come. Our products and name, thanks to our license-partners, is becoming more recognizable every day.
